From right to left, Samuel Shkolnik, his late wife, Dr. Sophia Shkolnik, Roberta Kessler (born in the USA) and her husband - Samuel’s brother, Prof. Adam Kessler (born in Czernowitz). My classmate in the L.E.G. high school was A. Kogan. In June 1941 father, mother, sister and myself, were deported to Siberia. We survived. I finished the high school, the Polytechnic Institute of Tomsk, received my scientific titles in Moscow. I emigrated with wife and daughter to Israel in 1973. In 1941 my brother was 4 years old. Our relatives Tony and Dr. Julius Kessler – the son of Dr. David Kessler, deputy to the chief rabbi of Czernowitz – succeeded to take him away from us. In 1952 they emigrated to the US. New York.
