The reason for a mailing list is to exchange information among all of the
members. If someone wants to send a private reply, which is normally a
smaller percentage of the time, it is possible to do it in several ways. I
strongly resent having to make the extra effort to send a reply to the
mailing list, that I joined just to exchange information among all the
members.
