Hi: my interest in the group is that my dad was born in Czernowitz, in 1910. What's curious is that family was from Jezierzany, about 40 miles north, and all records refer to Jezierzany, including Ellis Island, but for some reason Czernowitz was place where father was born. Perhaps family was there for commercial reasons, between trips to the US, or perhaps for medical reasons. Always a mystery for us. Any suggestions????
