Long time members of the list will remember my story. With the help of list
members, I spend several months doing genealogical research on my
grandfather. The story appears in the members pages on the website.
So many people were interested by what I had found that I spoke to my cousin
who also works in the documentary film industry, and we applied for a grant
to make a film about how our family was torn apart by two world wars and
eventually reunited. We received a few grants, including from the National
Film Board of Canada. So now, we are going to be travelling to Israel,
Romania and the Ukraine in April to film for two weeks.
Over the next few months I will have many questions for group members. I'm
sure many of them have been answered over the years, but I would appreciate
any help and practical information you could offer.
