Hello!

Yes: Tarnopol, Ternopil or also sometimes Ternopol are the same city. It
is in the Ukraine. (Tarnopol is the russian name, Ternopil is the
Ukrainian (Ruthenian) name.) I was also once there, on my way from
Czernowitz to Lemberg (Lviv in Ukrainian, Lwow in Russian)
