Miriam (Mimi) Taylor <mirtaylo_at_indiana.edu>
Dear Czernowitzers,
Because I endorsed Miriam's "One question", some people responded
to me rather than to Miriam. Sorry for any confusion.
The additional people who responded are:
Danny Alon (Israel) - yes
Hedwig Brenner (Israel) - yes
Veronica Elran (Israel) - yes
Nathan Gross (Israel) - yes
Lea Haber Gedalia (Israel) - yes
Miriam and Elan Lava (Israel) - yes but not during Hanukah
Yefim Rabinovich (NYC) - yes
Renee Steinig (USA) - not in December
Asher Turtel (Israel) - yes
Yehudit Yeushalmi (Israel) - yes
If there is anyone who wrote to me about participating in the proposed
meeting in Israel in December and I did not include you in the list,
Please excuse me and write to Miriam Suss again.
Counting those who are interested in a Bukowiner meeting in Israel
this December, in both lists, there are 15 of us. Assuming that spouses
or other family members may also participate and because as Miriam wrote;
so many Bukowiner live in Israel there probably would be 40-50 participants.
All of us are currently preoccupied with the situation in Israel and
possibly no one has the time and patience to make practical arrangements
for a meeting which is expected to take place in four and a half months.
Just the same, some of us may find relief in thinking about a program for
this meeting and going through our collected photographs, documents and
other memorabilia with a view to having an exhibition during the meeting.
As to the exact date of the meeting;
Chanukah starts on the evening of Dec 15th and finishes on Dec. 23.
Airfares from the US go up as of Dec. 15th
Please take these dates into consideration when you decide on a date
for the reunion.
My personal preference is to have a 3 day meeting,
starting on Dec. 13th and if this is not possible then on Dec. 18
Best regards, shalom al chol Israel,
Mimi
