Yes, the Austrians put a piece of sugar inside the plum, thus one does
not have to worry about the pits. The same method goes for apricots, try
fresh
big apricots, another delight.
To save the work of making breadcrumbs, try what my mother did: roll
ready "Knoedel" in a mixture of sugar and yes, cinnamon. It is irresistible.
All this comes now when I try to forget desserts and have lost a few
pounds after fighting daily with food. But it is worth it, I feel
lighter and better.
However, once in a blue moon one can eat almost everything, also the
delicious "Knoedel". Now in Europe is the season for plums, you get them in
all sizes and varieties.
