Chritian Hermann attracts my attention to another aspect
of the cemetery clean-up:
As more graves come into the light many of them have
toppled headstones.
If this is due to vandalism is not so clear but fixing this
is a problem.
I looked at pictures of the Jewish Cemetery in Prag which
is 500 years old and saw many toppled headstones but these
have no base plate and are stuck into the ground, giving
them stability and secondly they are very close to other
headstones , that support them , giving the whole cemetery
the famous look ( They were short of space ).
All this does not exist in Cz. Many of the leaning stones
will come down with time.
Some consideration should be given to this.
