[Cz-L] Popovici Plaque

Dear All,

Marianne Hirsch, Leo Spitzer, Florence Heymann and Cornel Fleming
are currently in Chernivtsi. They are trying to make arrangements
for the making of the plaque. Before they can finalize any arrangements,
they will need to come to an agreement about the price.
At this point they are negotiating with a sculptor for a stone plaque.
A stone plaque will probably cost considerably more than the bronze plaque
I had envisioned.

I therefore need to have a close estimate of how many people are willing
to contribute money to this project. I am also getting an exact estimate,
of how much it would cost to have this plaque made in bronze, in the US.

Without this obligating anyone, it would be useful, if each of you who is
willing to contribute towards the cost of making the plaque, would write me
and let me know, how much you are willing to contribute.

How much money I will later ask you to contribute, depends on the cost
of the plaque and the number of conributors, so when you write me that you
are willing to contribute a certain sum, this will be the very maximum you
will be asked to contribute.

In the meantime, I have written Marianne, not to come to any final agreement
with the sculptor, but to get an estimate, so we can decide whether it is
feasible. I also asked her to look into having the plaque made of bronze.
