[Cz-L] 600 year Jubilee

  Bogged down.
   As our most glorious city gets closer and closer to its triumphal
celebrations,dark clouds gather on the horizon.
          The problems are financial.
      The city started the preparations for the Jubilee by plans of
renovating the old city scenery .
             The money for this was promised by the Kiev
administration -some 10
million USD.
       On these promises work started .
         In the meantime there was a political crisis and a new government
was elected.
      All former promises were forgotten. No money is available.
       All incurred expenses fall on Czernowitz City Hall. About 1 million
Hryv . ( $ 200,000).
       There is no money in the kitty. Contributions are needed.
           Work came to a standstill.
          Herrengasse looks like a moor .
Turkenbrunnen looks like a front trench-line .
