A couple of months ago I had a brief conversation with Dr. Florence Heymann
regarding Reb Chaim Czernowitzer. I told her that among the Czernowitzer
Hassidim he was very much respected, especially at the synagogue of "our
Rebbe", the Boyaner. When I recently visited her at the French Research
Institute in Jerusalem we talked again about that and I think she might have
some material on his personality and his spiritual contribution to the
Jewish community of Czernowitz. You may wish to contact her, once she comes
