[Cz-L] Financial system for collecting and disbursing money collected for Cz.-List projects

Two of the projects I am involved in, which also concern
the Czernowitz list, are the commemorative plaque
to Traian Popovici and the clearing of weeds and bushes
 from the Jewish cemetery of Czernowitz.

Both these projects will require financial contributions
 from members of the list.

There is some money left over from the 2003 Czernowitz Reunion,
which is being held by Renee Steinig and which may be enough
for the small sum that may be needed towards the cemetery project.
The participants in the 2003 Reunion had agreed that this money,
which was left over from their payments for the reunion,
would be used for the cemetery. This money should be used only
for the cemetery, unless those who paid this money, agree otherwise.

We have no money set aside for the Popovici plaque.
It looks as if the plaque will cost more than I initially expected
and it is necessary too set up a system of collecting money
 from those who want to contribute towards paying for this project.
The system has to be safe and accountable, possibly set up
to receive either personal checks or credit cards in various currencies
and managed by more than one person.

I have no experience in such matters. The finances for the 2003 Reunion,
were managed by a group of the participants, with no-one person
holding the money until we were actually in Chernivtsi.

I therefore would like too receive your suggestions and ideas, as to
how to set up a suitable financial system, either for handling,
just this one project, or for handling any financial transactions,
which we may be involved in, in the future.

That could conceivably ease the process of paying with credit
cards. Another thought would be to set up a bank account with a name
like "Popovici Plaque Fund" which we could write personal checks to.
Perhaps there is an accountant in our CZ.-List who could be more
precise about how to do this well and accountably.
