According to Mimi's remark I hereby correct my estimate :
Not 3000 but 3001 survivors who remember.
Sorry,
Hardy

Just a quick correction:
In 1941 I was 4 years old and I do remember. I even recognized
the house in which we stayed in the ghetto, even though I only learned
the address later. I remember during the early winter of 1941-1942, playing
"Halt die Haende hoch du schaebiger Jude" with two children a year older
than I. I remember hiding in the attic of the building in which we lived in
the summer of 1942, when my playmate, Jerry Wolf (Yosi Eshet) and his
parents, who lived in the same building, were not so lucky and were
deported. Had I and my parents been deported in December of 1941, I do not
think, we would have survived. My mother was a frail woman, who's health
suffered because of the deprivations suffered during WW1.
