Of course it's well-known, especially by Czernowitzers and I don't whom
else.
But I myself use it frequently, when for instance a friend wants to visit
someone, I discourage by saying it's way out - wo der Riech sagt gute nacht!

Of course I wouldn't use it when talking to someone whose language is pure
German and I am aware that he wouldn't know what I am talking about! Here I
am surrounded by many native Germans and I have to watch my tongue not to
get into Czernowitzer talk.
Incidentally, having worked in a German office for more than eight years, I
really do know what I can say and what I can't!

I remember the senior secretary, a dignified German lady, saying to me:
"You know 99 1/2% GERMAN!"
"So what about the remaining half percent?" I asked.
"Well - that's certainly czernowitzerisch!"

Despite my efforts, she caught me!
