Dear All,
A friend of mine is undertaking a grand cycle tour of Europe. Starting from
Edinburgh he has now reached Lviv, and expects to arrive in Czernowitz in a
few days' time. He intends to spend some time in Cz before exploring deeper
into Ukraine.
I understand that some of the towns and villages between Lviv and Cz are
like typical old-world stetls. Several of you may have travelled from Lviv
to Cz, either for the 2006 Reunion, or possibly on other occasions. I am
wondering if any of you might have suggestions that I can pass on to my
friend, for places of particular interest on this route? Any particularly
interesting villages? Any synagogues of note? Anywhere worth stopping to
look at? An advantage of travelling by bicycle is that it is easy to stop
and look around.
Also, does anybody who knows Lviv have any particular suggestions for
anything that my friend should not miss while he is there?
Any suggestions would be gratefully received!
Best regards to all,
David
