Dear All,
This is to let you know, that Christian and I are working
on a report about the work-camp. We are still lacking some
of the information we need. We could of course report
on the preparations for the work-camp, also on what we observed
when we were there, but we left before the work-camp finished.
The students, who helped in clearing the cemetery, were there
on the last day, by which time, we had both left.
We have received an initial short report from SVIT-Ukraine,
but still expect a detailed account from the two work-camp leaders.
The students who came to help, were from school #24.
This is not the Jewish school, as far as we know the Jewish school is #41.
The international volunteers of the work-camp, were joined by a number
of local young people. Some joined very early and worked until the camp
finished, some joined later and I do not know how long they worked.
To my knowledge, only one of them was Jewish and on the second day
of working, he brought his non-Jewish friend.
In one of the messages I sent the list from Chernivtsi, I wrote
that I was "incredibly happy", I hope this explains why.
Mimi
