I remeber it as "der Babe's a zwok a zwekel" for a far relative, that
is, of 3rd or 4th grade, often without knowing anymore how is the
relationship, rather than doubtful.
Hot Bankes were put on the back of a sick person, usually with a
severe cough. It's meaning "it is hopeless" is correct, like putting
bakes on a dead person trying to jeal him.
