Thanks to Lilian , David and of course Jerome for sharing these photographs
with us. I am quite convinced though that the last three photographs are not
of the Prut, but of the Bicaz, the last one at a place called Cheilei
Bicazului which is south and some distance from Czernowitz.
The vicinity of the Prut in Czernowitz is quite flat.

In my childhood, I only went to one of the Prut beaches once, but I remember
the pebbly beach as can be seen in one of the photographs.
We Czernowitzer were very fond of our recreation areas, the Prut beaches
and Bila and Cecina, but as I saw on my recent trip to Czernowitz and visit
to Cecina, these places are not at all spectacular and what was wonderful
were not the places in themselves, but the good time that was had by those
spending their leisure time in these locations.
