[Cz-L] To the participants of the " Czernowitz Reunion 2006"

This is meant for all those who participated in the Czernowitz Reunion 2006.
Please excuse me for addressing it to the whole list.

As you may remember, at the end of the "Czernowitz Reunion 2006",
there were $298 left of the money which we had collected for the
expenditures related to the reunion. To this sum I added $245,
the sum I would have paid the hotel Cheremosh, had they not let me
stay there free of charge.
Adding this sum to the sum of money collected, but not disbursed,
the total was $298 + $245 = $543.

At the time we agreed that this money should eventually be used
for the restoration/rehabilitation of the Jewish cemetery.

Christian Hermann, Sasha Wolloch and I have been trying to devise
a plan for the restoration of the cemetery and we agree that
the first step should be to hire a surveyor to draw up a precise map
of the cemetery, including all the paths and all the large trees
(those which have a diameter of 10" - 25cm and more) in order
to determine the scope and the cost of the rehabilitation.

I would like your permission to use the money left over from
the reunion, plus any interest which has accrued, to pay the cost
of the proposed survey. I intend to be in Chernivtsi either in March
or April of 2009 and would like to have the survey done then.
Please let me know whether you agree to my using this money to pay
the surveyor as I suggest, with any money left over to go to a
Czernowitz Jewish cemetery fund which we hope to establish.
