Dear Mr. Rubin,

Thank you for writing to us so promptly.
I would be most grateful if you would inform us of the criteria we would
need to fulfill in order for your organization to be willing to consider
restoring the Czernowitz/Chernivtsi Jewish cemetery.

Also, whether the funds necessary for the restoration would need to be
raised by us, the descendants of those interred there, or whether you have
a general fund for the restoration of old Jewish cemeteries.

The Czernowitz / Chernivtsi Jewish cemetery is very large,
about 62 500 sq. meter and about 50 000 graves.
It is overgrown with young trees, bushes, creeping and climbing plants.
Some of the gravestones have fallen, some are in danger of falling in the
near future.

I will be very grateful for a full answer to my questions and description
of the way your organization handles the restorations.

With advance thanks and wishing you Shabbat Shalom,

Miriam (Mimi) Taylor
