Hardy, I had exactly the same reaction, it sounds like a clearance sale!
Which made me chuckle! Clearing is a better word. Also, clearing is both a
verb and a noun. So, it can refer to the process, but also to a clearing,
an area in the foliage that has been cleared, which has ( at least to me)
the connotation of a calm, peaceful place.

So, cemetery clearing, or CC. Or CCC for Czernowitz Cemetery Cleaning, or
CCCC for Czernowitz Cemetery Clearing Committee...

Whatever, I am so happy to see this project moving forward.

Also, wanted to take this opportunity to let folks know that two from our
volunteer group last summer will be back in Cz this summer. Shannon, the
woman from the U.S. who is in the Peace Corps in Ukraine, will be going back
to be part of this summer's SVIT group. And Katya, from Germany, will be
doing her thesis on the cemetery. I am sure at some point she will be
contacting this list.

I have participated in five different volunteer projects in different parts
of the world. I have never experienced this continued commitment to the
project that has happened here. (Hey, how about CCCCC - Continued
Committment to Czernowitz Cemetery Clearing?) Committee?!

Hardy, I think some of your dry wit is rubbing off on me!
