Re the cemetery project - Mimi's mother's line -
" Ja, aber von woh sol man es nehmen?" -
directs us to reality and first things first.

I brought up the subject over a year ago,
pointing out that with over 300 of us, a small
annual donation should make possible the clearing
and continued maintenance of the cemetery. It
went over like a lead balloon. There were two
voices that spoke up.

Before an examination of potential "clearers and
caretakers" we need to determine "von woh" or
more precisely: "Wer wird dafür zahlen?" Let's
see a show of hands. How many in the Cz list
have ancestors in the cemetery and who is
interested in donating annually in what amount?
That is the first step. The rest will be easier.

Andy

In response to letters about organizations to approach
in the interest of restoring the cemetery:

One of the organization we were told about before is lead by:

R' Tal Moshe Zwecker
Director Machon Be'er Mayim Chaim named after Rav Chaim Tirer of Czernowitz

Please someone, get all the exact information and present it to the list.

My mother had an old Austrian cookbook. Most of the recipes were rather
lavish.
Some would start: "Man nehme 12 Eier, 1 kg. Butter"....
During the war years in Czernowitz, the Tzenah years in Israel, my mother
would say: Ja, aber von woh sol man es nehmen?"

If you know of other organizations, contact them, get detailed
information, pertinent to the Czernowitz cemetery, estimates, etc.

Mimi
