Ervin,
Thanks for the compliment.
As they say: Past performance is no guarantee of future performance.
1) A sufficiently large number of members of the list have agreed that
we go ahead with the suggestion of Dr. Bursuk, to convince me that
we should do so.
At this point, no need to send in contributions. I do not want
to receive them now before we establish the proper set-up.
Sasha Wolloch and I will send Dr. Bursuk the initial payment from our
individual personal funds and if there is no opposition, from money left
over from the 2006 reunion. Later, those who want to will be able to
reimburse Sasha and me to the extend that we want to be reimbursed.
2. It is possible to hire a person in Chernivtsi to do archival research.
Ilana Gordon, just did so successfully. She did so through Zoya Danilovich,
the guide and translator, many of us have used when visiting Chernivtsi.
Zoya's Email is: <marketing2_at_hotel-cheremosh.com.ua>
Cemetery research is more difficult to do via people who live in Chernivtsi,
but Bruce Reisch will send you photographs of gravestones and burial
registry information if you send him the names and date of death of those
about whom you seek information.
Hope this helps,
Mimi
