[Cz-L] more re SCHMUCKER and LANG

I have been trying to help Erika find her family in the United States and
can add some details.

Erika is searching for the descendants of two relatives who were born in
Czernowitz and immigrated to America:

David SCHMUCKER-LANG

David was the brother of Erika's grandfather, Karl SCHMUCKER. David's and
Karl's parents were Mendel SCHMUCKER and Mariam nee LANG. David, born 1902
in Czernowitz, came to New York in 1920. In 1928, he married Helen and they
had two daughters, Janice and Marlene. In 1939, the family's last name was
legally changed to LANG. David worked in New York as a furniture
upholsterer. He probably died in Aug. 1983, but we haven't determined where=
.
(He did not die in Florida, his last place of residence.)

Max LANG

Max was the brother of Erika's great-grandmother Mariam. Their parents were
Israel and Rivka. Max, born 1880 in Czernowitz, came to New York in 1909
with his wife Rose and their daughter Helene. They lived in Berlin before
sailing to America. In 1913, Max and Rose had another child -- Alfred I,
LANG. This family lived in the Bronx, New York, and later in Yonkers, New
York, where Max owned a dry cleaning store. He died in Yonkers in 1952. Ros=

Lang died in Miami, Florida, in 1976; we have sent away for her death recor=

in the hope that it will have information about one of the children.
