Regarding the destruction of the left side of the Postgasse - you got the
correct answer from Prof. Alfred (Fredi) Schneider. As ordered by the
Soviets, I went there with my radio receiver that I got for my Barmitzva and
delivered it without getting any receipt. Everyone knew that the Soviets
blew it up at the last moment before their retreat.. Upon the invasion of
the Romanians and the Nazis I went there to the Getreideboerse to find out
what happened to my radio receiver and found only ruins, it was a total
destruction. I do not remember what happened to the main Post Office on the
right side of the Postgasse (further down from the Boerse.

Hardy, are you sure the building was blown up in 1941?
This seems very unlikely to me, because it would mean
that I remember the building from before, i.e. From before
I was 4 years old.

Does anyone remember the explosion which took place in the spring
of 1944? The one I mentioned in my previous message?
If you do, where did this explosion take place?

Mimi
