Greetings Irmgard and thank you for your prompt reply!

I should have been more clear about what I was after. I'll try now:

I am with a group of over 250 Jewish genealogical researchers whose
roots are either directly in Czernowitz or what was greater Bukowina.
We have over the years made attempts to clear the massive amount of
trees and other under and over growth that have plagued this historic
cemetery. It is across from what I believe is a large possibly
non-denominational Christian cemetery. To my knowledge these may be
the only two major cemeteries in Czernowitz proper.

We have had summer work camps that focused on clearing the Jewish
side, and have a pilot project with the City going on at present to
try and clear and restore more. According to those who have visited
both cemeteries, the Christian side is in far better shape and is
reasonably well maintained.

We understand that Between August of 2008 and April of 2009 a lot of
work was done
at the Christian cemetery. This work was apparently paid for by
private means. We would be interested in finding out if there are
Bukowinian organizations that undertook to manage the clearing and
cleaning Christian cemetery, and if so, how the went about the
process; who they hired; and how it is being presently maintained.

Our progress is slow and we feel that we could learn much from those
who have been successful in overcoming the same types of difficulties.

Your organization seemed a likely place to start, and thus I wrote to
info_at_bukovinasociety.org which I got from your excellent website.

If you have any insight in these matters or could direct us to those
that do, it would be much appreciated.

Best regards,
