In my childhood I never had occasion to be on the Gartengase, but during the
2006 Czernowitz Reunion, the bus which took us on a tour of the city, once
drove down this street and I thought that the houses were very beautiful.
Last summer, I made a point of walking don this street and into the
botanical garden. Most of the houses are lived in and they still are very
beautiful.

Hardy, are you sure the one empty house without windowpanes is not empty
because it is being completely renovated?

By the way, do any of you remember how windows were replaced in the old
days? The man coming to the house and cutting the glass to size on the
kitchen table?
