Thank you for evaluating the article, Mimi, and for noting the spelling error. I remember showing my mother wartime?NY Times articles I found through the Times' archive service - she always found them intriguing but sometimes disputed facts they had reported . . .

Thank you Eytan for the information. The obituary for Josef Burg is OK
except for the fact that the author, again and again refers to Czernowitz
as Chernovitsi.
In no language and at no time did the city have this name.
I would have expected better from the NY Times.
