[Cz-L] Re: Herta Müller in Czernowitz

Dear all,
Yesterday, in a TV interview dated 5 September of this year, when she
presented her latest book, Herta Müller was talking about her visit to
Ukraine in May 2009.
She went there looking for the places where her mother had been deported
to forced labour camps (Donetz coal mines). On the way she stopped over
in Czernowitz
and visited the city and obviously also the Jewish cemetery.
In the last years she repeatedly protested against the rehabilitation
policy of former securitate members and networks, with little success,
but it didn't make her very popular with the Romanian authorities.
