These people are strolling and strutting their stuff in the public square or
promenade, a very common activity on a Sunday in all parts of the European
and Western worlds, as for example strolling on the Coney Island Reigelmann
boardwalk (built 1923) in Brooklyn, NY or on The Atlantic City NJ boardwalk
(built in 1870).

Some of these people may be Dilettante's or as you say, loafers (Flaneurs),
but in all probability, most are not and are just socializing.

Thank you for providing us with the beautiful photo. For those who lived in
CZ (although at a later date), this photo must bring tears to the eye and a
sense of longing for what was.

When would you say this photo was taken? 1900-1910?
