I have a similar story like Alex'. My brother was deported to
Transnistria and was in a labor camp close to the Bug river.
German SS oficers were pressing the Romanian commandant of the camp
to let them have the Jews to take them over the Bug. But the Romanian
commandant wanted the Jews to stay and finish the paving of the road
to his house and was postponing the transfer. Then an order came from
the Romanian authorities to transfer the group to the south near
Odessa. That how the group escaped and survived
Than there is a story in the book "Jagendorf's Foundry" where a
family was sent over the Bug and Jagendorf by pulling some strings
succeded in bringing them back. I know that the story is real because
i knew the family and they have confirmed the story.
