Quite possibly someone has written to the list about this book before me.
It is " While the Gods were Silent" by Julius Scherzer. Published by
PublishAmerica.

It is both an autobiography as well as a history of the Jews of Czernowitz
in the 20th century. In my opinion it is fascinating reading and very
informative. Many of the topics we have discussed in recent weeks within the
list, are described in detail from the view-point of an eye witness.

One of these is the setting on fire of the Post-Office, another the setting
on fire of the "Tempel" .

If I'll get Julius' permission, I will post the pertinent paragraphs to the
list.
