Please explain; does this appear as a video on the Gruss site, but they took
the photographs from various sources, including "youtube" ?
Please can you explain the whole set-up?

I think that the video "Focus on old Jewish Czernowitz" on the Gruss site,
while pleasant enough to watch leaves out more than it includes. Possibly
this is so because it is so short. But there are far too few photographs of
Czernowitz as it was, both people and buildings. No photographs of the
Temple, the interior of the painted synagogue, nor of the cemetery.

It also gives an image of Czernowitz as a poor neglected "shteitel", rather
than the well planned city it is. No photograph of the Ringplatz,
the Volksgarten, the Mehl-Platz, the Toynbee Halle.........

Among the photographs included, I did not see any, which I contributed
to the "ehpes" site, or which are on my public Picasa Web Albums.
So I do not know why they thank me.

Would you Hardy, or anyone else please translate some of what is being said
or sung on this video?

Very generally speaking, I wish there was more collaboration between the
various Czernowitz/Chernivtsi sites and that English - Ukrainian as well as
Ukrainian - English translation was available on all of them.
