[Cz-L] database of students/faculty expelled from Univ. of Vienna

The University of Vienna has created an online "Memorial Book
Dedicated to the Victims of National-Socialism at the University of
Vienna 1938" at
<http://gedenkbuch.univie.ac.at/index.php?id=433&L=2> (English version)

A searchable database lists expelled students, dismissed lecturers and
researchers, and graduates whose academic credentials were rescinded
after the Anschluss. The database includes names and
biographical information of over 2,000 people -- including at least 23
born in Czernowitz.

A search (in the Full Search box) for Czernowitz brought up these names:

"Josef BURG, born on May 30th, 1912 in Vijnita/Romania [Ukraine]
(entitled residency ('heimatberechtigt') for Cernautic/Romania,
Citizenship: Romania), son of Chune Burg (blue-collar worker), lived
in Wien 2, Rueppgasse 16/4, was enrolled finally in the fall term
1937/38 at the Philosophical School in the 1st year of his studies as
extraordinary student and took courses in Educational Science."

Burg's original two-page "Nationale" from the fall 1937-1938 fall
semester is pictured.
