Regarding Rosa Zuckermann - Her son Felix Zuckermann should still be in Cz.
I lost his telephone number, but I am almost sure that Dr. Bursuk can find
it for you. I met Felix during the 2006 reunion he is a very nice
gentleman.

Jews shot between July 41 and October 41. For information boards .

We knew very little -no radio, no newspapers ,so that all is based on
memory.
   All we knew that the news spread like wildfire : " Men schiesst Jiden !
   (They shoot Jews )".
     How many ,where ? If you were not personally involved you wouldn't
     know.
    After the war this episode was suppressed as many locals were involved
.
     Not good enough for information boards.
      The local Jews ,survivors of that period , may know.
       In the City archives ,at the University desk for Jewish History
(P.Rychlo) may know.)

                As for information boards:
              Take for instance the chiseled wall of the Old Synagogue were
it
         says in Hebrew :
    " Founded in 1799.

       Galina who makes the Czernowitz Virtual Museum puts the date as
      1853.( based on documentation.)
    Were the engravers in the wall misleading ?
   I very much doubt it. It all depends what you mean by" founding " ?
    Buying of the plot ? Starting the financing ?
    Who knows ?
