Hi,

Those somewhat older than Hardy, as I probably am, would have also belonged
to a Schmoll Club. Members collected the detachable little metal wings from
the shoe polish box opener to obtain free prizes such as soccer balls, lapel
buttons, and Schmoll Club pennants. The art of advertising was already quite
sophisticated in our part of Europe!
