Hi everyone,

Rosh Hashanah is rapidly approaching, and I want to wish every one of you my
very best for a New Year filled with much joy and good health.

To celebrate the Jewish New Year, I'd like you tell you that I've added four
new pages to my World Jewish Communities' Czernowitz page.
These pages are included within my newest online exhibition "Shabbat and the
Jewish Holidays." Here you can read a bit about Shabbat and ten Jewish
holidays, i.e. short accounts of what the holidays represent, as well as
individual stories as told by those who experienced these holidays, mostly
from Jews who once lived in European towns and cities before the advent of
World War II.
I haven't announced this exhibition yet as I'm putting the "final touches"
on it, but you can see it first if you'd like. This exhibition contains more
than three dozen web pages.

Here are the names of four new web pages, three of which have to do with
Czernowitz:

"Purim in Czernowitz"
 "Childhood Memories of Pesach"
 "A Purim Celebration"
 "Sukkot: A Special Holiday"

The last three come courtesy of Eytan and Mark Fichman, whose mother Pearl
Fichman (nee Spiegel) lived in Czernowitz. She wrote her memoirs "Before
Memories Fade" (1989), and the text and photos on these pages come from her
memoirs. More will follow and I will let you know when they are online.

The above links can be found on my WJC Czernowitz page which currently
contains twenty-two pages re Czernowitz. The link is
www.museumoffamilyhistory.com/wjc-czernowitz-vtour.htm . Links to the
aforementioned pages about the Jewish holidays are entries 19 to 22. Just
click on the links to see the pages you're interested in.

Lastly, also from Pearl Fichman's memoirs, I have included within my site a
chapter about Selma Meerbaum-Eisinger (from Czernowitz) and her friends. You
will find this page at www.museumoffamilyhistory.com/bmf-smeerbaum.htm.

L'Shana Tovah,
