I mentioned to one of the current participants in this debate the following:\

One must not forget the period 1940-1945 of Czernowitz where there is nothing the authorities would like to substantiate by admiting any participation in the demise of Czernowitzer Jews.
Be they German, Roumanian or Ukrainian you can not have items in the Museum exposing the truth thus casting blame. I do not think that they are going to be flexible by seing your point of view also the current population are newcomers who have no knowledge or information or interest of reviving an gruesome period.Again i doubt that there are many true Czernowitzer left to lend substance.Again the Jewish Community if there is one must be sort of on a shelf with no say so it remains with the current authorithy to decide what is in their interest to be seen or not. What you have are pitifull relics of the past whilst a vibrant Jewish people that gave so much life and standing to a place called Czernowitz have been cast into oblivion.
Thanks to a person like Mimi who witht tenacity put in  an enormous effort in convincing the current authorithy
in proceeding in some of her projects most admirable, but the authorities are not sentimental in fact show as you see resistance. Are refurbishing the city and some areas only to cash in from the decendants or general tourist.      Acolade for effort          Fred.Weisinger
