Reading recipes and looking at pictures of food, just makes me hungry.
Still, I found on youtube "Pastele in Bucovina".
But listening to Romanian music, what a "mechaye"!
Anyone interested in the ones I like best, on youtube look for
"Casa parinteasca" by Ghita Munteanu and a lot of drinking songs:
1."Bun e vinul Ghiurghilui" sung by Maria Tanase
(She is wearing a Bucovina embroidered blouse)
2. "Asa beau oameni bune" sung by Cornelia Lupu Rednic
(these singers are from Maramures, the province west of Bucovina.
My great grandparents moved from there to Czernowitz in 1879)
3. " Beau si astazi, Beau si maine"
Please make sure you view them in this order.
L'Chayim,
Mimi
