Hi Alfred....I am not sure of medicinal uses for Vishniak,but I suspect that

In recent days there were several "hymns" to the gustatory merits of
vishniak and the skills of our ancestors in preparing this delicacy. I
recall that vishniak was also used for medical purposes, specifically for
gastric upsets, but I don't remember the required symptoms. Was it for
diarrhea or for constipation?
