This is the famous Opel Kadett somewhere in Czernowitz.
The Kadett was the most popular car in Europe before the war.
After victory the Soviets demanded , as war reparations ,
the Braunschweig production line of the Kadett, to be transferred to
Moscow.
To facilitate this they laid wide-gauge rail lines deep into Germany
to fit the Russian rail.
In 1947 they came out with the Moskwitch 400 , identical to the Opel.
What you see here is one of them in Czernowitz.
The directional signal lights on the fenders are additions
by the inventive owner.
