Edgar,

Thank you very much for the transcribed directories and for the promised ones.

The streets from your unresolved list:

Strada Masaryk - currently vul. Bogomoltsa (between
Siebenbürgerstrasse and Splenygasse), did not exist before ca. 1930.

Strada Pictorul Knapp - a small cul-de-sac on the corner of Sterngasse
and Traubengasse (Bogdana Khmelnitskogo and Kirovogradska), currently
is not a street.

Strada Mihai Chisanovici - a small street in the same general
neighborhood, could not identify exact location.

Strada Gheorghe Stoian - a small street between Neueweltgasse and
Russische Gasse, could not identify exact location.

Strada Prelat Schmidt - could not find.

best,
Iosif Vaisman

The directories for the years 1895, 1905, 1906, 1906, 1908, 1910, 1924/25, 1927 are still available for transcription. We believe that the 1927 edition, being the most recent, should be the next one to be processed. Is that correct?

The Czernowitz Street Name Translator, compiled and edited by Yossi Eshet, Bruce Reich, and Marc Goldberger, released on the Ehpes homepage, was the most valuable source for identifying the street names displayed in the Czernowitz directory for the year 1936, but in addition we have used the Street Name Translator published on http://www.czernowitz.de/ too, containing an index number for each street. However we encountered several street names, that we couldn't allocate:
