Hi Hardy,
I was born in Czernowitz, Rumania from American parents. While visiting my
grand parents I spoke German to my grand mother and Hebrew with my
grandfather. I never considered myself Austrian or Rumanian. At this point
in my life I am an Israeli American in spite of my Rumanian birth.

Hi.Hardy....in Czernowitz we called Jews who came in from Rumania
"Reichsrumaenen" and looked down on them...quite correctly...their education
was obviously sadly lacking since very few of them spoke German. And in
Israel my family regarded themselves as Austrian, with no ifs or buts!!
