[Cz-L] After war movies in Czernowitz

   If you click this link you get a clip called "Chattanooga Choo Choo " a
dance sequence
 from an american movie called " Sunshine Valley Serenade " and is from 1941
featuring
 Glenn Miller and orchestra . The girl is Dorothy Dandridge who later got
an Oscar for
  doing "Carmen Jones ".
   How does this fit into the Czernowitz group mail ? Let me explain :
   After the war we started enjoying life again and cinema was our main
entertainment.
   Mainly Soviet movies focused on the war . Victory over the Nazis , Nazi
atrocities ,
    Partizans in forests ambushing German invaders . Germans in forest
ambushing
    Partizans, all in Russian that we didnt understand .
     Then they brought " Sun Valley" a nonsense musical comedy and our
world changed.
     Until then we were made to believe that America was bad. Amerikanskye
Imperialisty.
      Doomed by history. To be replaced by proletariat.
        After "Sun Valley " all this changed. Music , comedy , dances we
have never seen the like...
        I know that this was just a movie but we were kids and easily
impressed ,
         Just look at the clip and imagine yourself a kid of 12 or 14 in a
Czernowitz cinema
       at the end of the war in 1944 od 1945.
         ( At the exit they were usually holdig up people looking for draft
dodgers and deserters).
