 Mimi,
The name Fruchter of this story is fictitious, imaginary.
    Does not relate to anyone.

Some of you may know that my maternal grandmother's maiden name
was Fruchter. She was born in the village of Klivodyn and lived there till
she married my grandfather Saul Leib Steinmetz in 1906. In Czernowitz she
was Frau Steinmetz. She had two brothers and four sisters. Neither of the
brothers lived in Czernowitz. All the sister married, their married names
were: Weininger, Jagendorf, Weisselberg or Weisselberger and Wiznitzer.
None of them married a Fruchter. One brother lived in Klivodyn and outlived
his wife, the other brother had two sons, one of whom did live in
Czernowitz, but on the Schmiedgasse, not on the Russische Gasse and
his two daughters are both blond and in 1945 were respectively 15 and 13
years old.

Why am I telling you all this? So that you will not under any circumstances
think that I am even remotely connected to the Fruchter family, Hardy wrote
about. My family were hoch-anstaendige Menschen.
Kein Skandal und kein Krawall!

Mimi
