Russians occupy Czernowitz - First World War .

In the 30 years ( 1915 -1944) the Russians have conquered ,occupied ,
liberated, annexed
  Czernowitz 4 times ( 1915, 1916, 1940, 1944).
   Bukowina , at the crosspoint of the 3 great powers ( Habsburg , Ottoman
and Muscovite)
  has always been a strategic key point .
    Also very good for trading.
  This is why so many jews found it attractive.
