Dear Fred,

Your statement deserves some consideration.

Local government officials in Chernivtsi, like everywhere else are
accountable for the money they spend and have to make often painful economic
decisions. This is a lot of money. Since there are not enough Jews there to
support such a project, where is the money for restoration and upkeep going
to come from?

Unless there is a credible answer with solid numbers and commitments, what
would you do in their place?

Henry
