In answer to Hardy, Bruce, Bernard, Cornel and all who have written about
this subject,

I disagree with Hardy's analysis and plan.
Whoever owns or rents the Tempel building currently, cannot be evicted
without establishing the legal status of the building, planning on a
different use for it and then establishing that this use is feasible and
acceptable to those legally involved or concerned.
An empty building IS more likely to deteriorate physically than one which is
being used in such manner as to not harm the structure.

I do welcome the suggestion of Bruce Wexler, to inquire of "The United
States Commission for the Preservation of America's Heritage Abroad" what
can be done to return the building to a more dignified use. I hope that
Bruce or other members of this list who live in the US, will do so.
Possibly there are in Israel, other governmental or religious bodies which
deal with such issues and I hope someone would volunteer to search and
inquire, how they might help.

While I can understand the outrage many of us feel at the present use
of the building, this feeling will accomplish nothing unless it results in
sensible, legal actions.

As part of the Yom Kippur prayers we say: "Ky eyn banu maasim" (because we
cannot do anything). This is meant to say that we, human beings cannot do
much and need God's help. Yes and No, we can at least try and do things.

Please, those interested, research the legal facts, the organizations which
might help with this endeavor, set up an organizational committee and
hopefully your endeavors will be crowned by success.
