Dear all,
I have not been in touch for a long time so I will introduce myself again.
My name is Svetlana Frunchak and I am a PhD candidate in Soviet and East
European history at University of Toronto. I am completing my dissertation
about the war and the first post-war decade in former Czernowitz. Of course=
,
I am a regular visitor of CzernowitzEphes and a regular reader of this
listserv; both provide a tremendously rich collection of sources and a lot
of inspiration. I am very grateful to many members who already helped me in
my research.
I am wondering if you people could help me one more time. Does anyone have
preserved originals or pictures of Soviet passports received in 1940,
particularly those with "clause 39" (limitation by social origin)? Does
anyone have memories of "passportization" - popular perceptions, procedures=
,
anything?
Thank you so very much in advance!
Have a great Sabbath and weekend,
Svetlana
