I agree with Hardy about your memory.
If I remember household customs, it is because as a girl, I was supposed
to be familiar with them. Probably also because, due to the war, I did not
go to Kindergarten or first grade and spent my days watching and listening
to the adults.
Not only was the "Trapaczka" used to beat the carpets, which quite
effectively got out all the dust, but it was also used to threaten naughty
children, much less effectively!
